Eddie Jay Williams has been writing songs for over 30 years. Influences include John Prine, Randy Newman, Tom Waits, Warren Zevon, Richard Buckner and Paul Simon. His style tends toward simple chords or picking patterns with emphasis on lyrics, and occasional harmonica thrown in for accents. His material ranges from quirky to murky, with a good measure of introspection and even the occasional tender ballad.
He was raised in Los Angeles, and for a time was Local Music Director on rebel radio station KROQ-FM. He now makes his home on Bainbridge Island, WA., where he operates his own live sound and recording business by night while scrubbing toilets by day.
